Sassa Child Grant is a form of assistance that Sassa on behalf of the South African Government disburse to take care of children below the age of 18. For one to qualify for this grant, a certain criteria have to be met.

Child Support Grant is one of the many social grants administered by the South African Social Security Agency in South Africa. This grant is meant for children under the age of 18 whom their caregiver does not receive income more than as stipulated below.
Qualifying Criteria for Child Support Grant
The requirements to receive or qualify for child support grant include being a primary caregiver. The person responsible for the child should be a South African citizen or permanent resident, receiving not more than R4 000 per month and if married, getting R8 000 per month combined salary or less.
The child must be under the age of 18, not be in the care of a state institution and live with the primary caregiver in South Africa, who is not paid to look after the child.
