New Social Grant increased amounts are to be effected from April 2023. The social grant increases were announced by the Minister of Finance earlier this year.
According to Zulu, the increases will be implemented on 1 April 2023 and 1 October 2023. New amounts from April 2023 for various social grants will be as listed below.
New Social Grant Increased Amount Starting 01 April 2023:
- Older Persons grant – R2 080
- Older Persons 75 years+ (including additional payment) – R2 080 + R20
- Disability grant – R2 080
- War Veteran’s grant (including additional payment) – R2 080 + R20
- Child Support grant – R500
- Child Support grant (Top-up) – R500 + R250
- Care Dependency grant – R2 080
- Foster Care grant – R1 120
- Grant-In-Aid – R500
These social grants have been increased by at least 5%. On 1 October 2023, the social grants will increase by R10.
So What are the Payment Dates for the month of April?
The social grants for the month of April 2023 will be paid as follows:
Older Age Pension Grant
The Older Persons grant will be paid on 04 April 2023
Disability Grant
The Disability Grant will be paid on 05 April 2023
Child Support Grant and Other Grants
All other grants will be paid on 06 April 2023
