Sassa is the administrating agency for the Social Development Department for the management and distribution of social grants in South Africa. They disburse social grants on monthly basis to the needy people in the Republic of South Africa.
How Much Are These Sassa Grants Per Person?
The values of the Sassa grants differs according to the categories and sometimes age of the recipient. There are grants for children under the age of 18, grants for orphans and vulnerable children, grants for people with disabilities, grants for war veterans and grants for the elderly people.
For example the grant for the elderly people is categorised into grant for elders under the age of 75 and grant for elders above the age of 75. Also there are grants for elders with disabilities. Now, how much are these grants? Let’s get on it in the next paragraph.
Sassa Grant Amounts For December 2024
The social grant payment amounts for December will be as follows:
- Older Persons grants will be R2,190
- Older Persons grants for people 75 years and older will be R2,210.
- Disability grants will be R2,190
- War Veterans grant will be R2,210
- Care Dependency grant will be R2,190
- Foster Care grant will be R1,180.
- The Child support Grant will be R530
- SRD grant payment for December 2024 will be R370.
When Are These Grants Paid in December
The payment for the ‘normal’ social grants will be paid from the 3rd of December until the 5th of December 2024. The SRD grant is usually paid towards months end. Sassa publishes the payment schedule on a monthly basis for the R370 SRD Grant.
