Forget About Reconfirm SRD Grant | Here is the reason
Earlier this year when the current cycle of SRD Grant was launched, it was a requirement for all Social Relief of Distress Grant beneficiaries to reconfirm their SRD applications after every three month. But for now, you just have to forget about reconfirm SRD Grant for November 2022. We will tell you why in a moment, just keep reading.
Who is Eligible for SRD Grant?
You are eligible for the R350 grant if you meet the following:
- You must be unemployed
- You must not be receiving NSFAS
- You must not be staying in government subsidized accommodation.
- You must be between the ages of 18 to 59 years old.
- You must not be receiving other social grants on behalf of yourself.
- You must be a South African citizen, permanent resident, asylum seeker or refugee registered on the Home Affairs database.
Those are some of the requirements for one to be considered for the R350 grant for COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress.
Additional Requirement
One other requirement is that you must not be receiving income of more than R624 per month. That means, you must be receiving income of funds to your account of less than R624 per month.
Why you Must Forget About Reconfirm SRD Grant?
Sassa has, in the recent months announced that it is no longer necessary for R350 SRD grant beneficiaries to do a reconfirmation of their SRD applications. Sassa will manually reassess your applications on monthly basis to check if you still meet the requirements for the SRD grant. So, you must forget about reconfirmation for SRD grant from now onwards.
